Where did Time Dive come from?
Time Dive was founded by Jennifer Still and Gail Stewart, two experienced writers, researchers, and content curators whose passion for history and world cultures work seamlessly together to create stories that fascinate, educate, and inspire. They believe that understanding all that came before is key to creating a better future, and they want to share their love of the past with those who are also curious about how we got to where we are, and how we can get to someplace much better. Here, you’ll find easily digestible articles on everything from Indigenous tribes around the world to life during the Tudor period and everything in between—and there’s a whole lot in between.
We’ll always aim to cover history in ways that are fair, unbiased, and sometimes uncomfortable in its reality. Here, you’ll only find information supported by fact, and while that may differ from more of the sugarcoated stories you learned in school, it’s vital that the truth of events that have taken place is presented completely and without censoring. After all, it’s only through confronting the things we got wrong that we can start to get things right.
The Founders
Jennifer Still, Time Dive Co-Founder
Jennifer Still began her media career in 2010, when she took on the role as Founding Editor at HelloGiggles, the lifestyle site founded by actress Zooey Deschanel and was later acquired by TIME. From there, she has held writing and editing positions with Business Insider, Digital Spy, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, BuzzFeed, Healthline, Static Media, and many more. She holds a bachelor’s degree in media studies from Eugene Lang College at The New School in New York City, and is currently studying for her masters in history at the University of Manchester.
Gail Stewart, Time Dive Co-Founder
Gail Stewart spent more than two decades working for her local city council before transitioning to publishing. She worked as the lead content strategist at HelloGiggles and Ask.com, before working with nearly a dozen private media start-ups to develop comprehensive editorial plans and brand awareness, as well as performing data analysis to determine content gaps and opportunities for growth. She graduated with honours with a degree in community management from the University of Glasgow.
